ready or not

There are seasons in life when God calls us to step into something new. As I prepare for a new chapter, I find myself asking a question that many people face: Am I really ready to leave the safety and comfort of the place I have called home?

The truth is, I don’t know that anyone ever feels completely ready.

I have been incredibly blessed to be welcomed into a home that has shown me what family is supposed to look like. In a world where healthy relationships can sometimes seem rare, I have had the privilege of witnessing a godly family up close. I have seen grace, forgiveness, consistency, love, and faith lived out daily.

I have learned what a godly marriage looks like—not a perfect marriage, but one built on commitment, sacrifice, prayer, and mutual respect. I have watched two people choose each other every day and put Christ at the center of their relationship.

I have also had the opportunity to learn from a woman who embodies many of the qualities described in Proverbs 31. Her example has taught me the value of diligence, wisdom, kindness, hospitality, and serving others with a joyful heart. Through her influence, I have learned practical skills such as organization, stewardship, and creating a home environment that honors God.

These lessons are gifts that I will carry with me wherever I go.

As I look ahead, there is excitement mixed with uncertainty. Leaving a place of safety can feel intimidating. There is comfort in familiar routines, familiar faces, and knowing that support is always nearby. Yet growth often requires movement. God frequently calls His people to step forward before they feel fully prepared.

I am learning that readiness is not about having all the answers. It is about trusting the One who does.

This next season will bring new responsibilities, new opportunities, and new challenges. One area where I especially need God’s guidance is in my finances. I want to be a faithful steward of what He provides. I want to make wise decisions, avoid unnecessary mistakes, and build a strong foundation for the future.

Lord, give me wisdom for every decision ahead. Help me manage my finances with discipline and discernment. Teach me to trust You when the path feels uncertain. Help me apply the lessons I have learned in this home and carry them into the life You are calling me to build. Thank You for the people who have invested in me, loved me, and shown me what it means to follow You faithfully. As I step into this new chapter, help me walk with courage, gratitude, and confidence in Your leading.

While leaving the safety of home may feel bittersweet, I know that God is not just the God of the place I am leaving—He is also the God of the place I am going.
